Cookie Policy
This site uses very few cookies. This page sets out what they are and how to control them.
Last updated: 5 September 2026.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website. Similar technologies — tracking pixels, local storage — do much the same job. They are used to make a site work, to remember choices, and to count visitors.
What this site uses
| Strictly necessary | Set by our hosting platform, WordPress.com, to keep the site secure and working — for example to protect the enquiry form against abuse. These cannot be switched off without breaking the site, and under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations they do not require your consent. |
|---|---|
| Analytics | WordPress.com Stats counts page views and referring sites so we can see which pages are useful. The data is aggregated and we cannot identify you from it. |
| Spam prevention | Akismet checks enquiry form submissions to distinguish genuine messages from spam. |
| Gravatar | Profile images are served from Gravatar, an Automattic service. This involves a request to their servers when a page loads. |
We do not use advertising cookies. We do not run retargeting or advertising pixels, and we do not share cookie data with advertising networks. There are no embedded social media trackers on this site.
How to control cookies
Every major browser lets you see the cookies a site has set, delete them, and block them — usually under Settings, then Privacy. Blocking all cookies may stop parts of this site working, though the pages themselves will still be readable.
If you would prefer not to be counted in our analytics at all, most browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting, and browser extensions that block analytics scripts will also do the job.
