Booking Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to performances, workshops and programmes we deliver, unless we have signed something different with you.

Last updated: 5 September 2026. These are our standard terms; the proposal we send you takes precedence where it differs.

Booking and confirmation

In these terms, “we” and “us” means Māori Consulting Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16605852, trading as Haka International.

We will send you a written proposal setting out what we will deliver, when, where and at what price. A booking is confirmed when you accept that proposal in writing and we acknowledge it. Until then the date is not held.

Fees and payment

Fees are quoted exclusive of VAT where VAT applies. Travel, accommodation and any venue or AV costs are quoted separately unless the proposal says they are included. Invoices are payable within 30 days of the invoice date unless agreed otherwise. We may charge interest on overdue sums under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

Changes and cancellation

If you need to move a date, tell us as early as you can and we will do our best to accommodate it without charge. If you cancel, the following applies to the agreed fee:

If we have to cancel — which we would only do in exceptional circumstances — we will offer an alternative date or a full refund of anything you have paid.

What we need from you

You are responsible for the venue and for the safety of the space in which we perform or teach: a cleared, level floor of adequate size, a private changing area, and reasonable access for arrival and setup. If the space provided is unsuitable and cannot be made suitable, we may have to modify or shorten what we deliver, and the fee remains payable.

Filming and recording

Filming and photography are permitted by prior arrangement. We ask you to agree with us in advance how any footage will be used. A haka is not stock footage, and we reserve the right to decline particular uses. We may take our own photographs for our records and, with your permission, for our own portfolio.

Cultural material

Any haka we teach remains the cultural property of the people it belongs to. Learning a haka from us does not transfer ownership of it. Where we compose a haka specifically for your organisation, what you may do with it will be set out expressly in that proposal.

Insurance and liability

We carry public liability insurance and will provide a certificate and a risk assessment on request. Participation in a workshop is physical activity and is voluntary; participants should not take part against medical advice, and you are responsible for making that clear to your people.

Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, our total liability in connection with any engagement is limited to the fee paid for it, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

Circumstances beyond control

Neither party is liable for failure to perform caused by events outside its reasonable control, including severe weather, transport failure, illness affecting the group, or restrictions imposed by authority. We will offer an alternative date where that happens.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. Questions: info@hakainternational.com.
